Reading an article in WSJ. I think that Iraq is heading down a path
that will make them shine in the middle East. Yes they are all messed
up and they have lots of problems, but I think they will look like the Pearle of the middle east because the bar is sooooo low. The countries around Iraq are so broken and even with oil wealth the lack of freedom and corruption are immense, so it will not take much for Iraq to look like a star. It is a hard struggle but with democracy in place there are the beginnings of checks and balance. Within
the decade they will be talking about the miracle of Iraq and President
Bush will be seen as the liberator that he truly is. I have my problem
with the current administration and its big government approach to
problems but his foreign policy will ultimately be seen as turning
point in the middle east. His administration is not one to trumpet
success and as the years pass victories that were had in the shadows
will come forward and add to the legacy of success.
